Description
3′ USB-to-micro USB quick disconnect magnetic charging cable.
Not for file transfer, charging cord only.
This cable is handy for the following use-cases:
- If you charge the phone in your car, the swivel-end is very convenient.
- If the cable is accidentally yanked when connected to the phone, it will disconnect the magnetic connector instead of damaging the USB port on the phone.
- If the USB port is frequently used for charging the phone, the port can become worn. By leaving the magnetic end connected to the phone, it reduces the wear on the USB port itself.
- If you use a protective case and cannot easily use the charging cradle, the magnetic connector is convenient to easily connect to the phone instead of plugging in the Micro-USB cable every time.

I was looking to get this cable to transfer devices from my computer to my phone. Unfortunately, when I tried to plug it into my MacBook and downloaded the Android File Transfer, it didn’t work. When I read the instructions more carefully I saw that certain USB chargers may only work for charging and unfortunately it looks like I got that one. Fortunately, it charges amazingly. the design to prevent from damage is innovative even for most mainstream phones, though it is hard to get the whole charger out (but I might be doing that wrong). I also liked the fact that the cable seemed to be made of some sort of fibers so it is very sturdy and won’t break like the iPhone chargers tend to do.
Overall, if you are on the go and you want to charge your phone while you travel (car, battery pack, computer, plane, ect.) I would recommend it, however if you are looking to transfer files I wouldn’t purchase it. I would instead just transfer items through Bluetooth because that worked really well for me.
